Versatile & Legible
This logo can be applied to many different surfaces, while still retaining its legibility and detail. Here it is shown on the brick exterior. The stencil style application fits with the casual barbecue concept.
Supporting Assets
PATTERN
Flexible pattern that can be placed on menu covers, event promotions, website, and more.
ALTERNATE LOGO OPTIONS
The circular logo is great in most scenarios, but the horizontal lettering option offers additional flexibility while staying consistent with the overall identity.
COMPLIMENTARY COLOR PALETTE
Color is a strong tool when used to highlight menu details. These colors are also used on wayfinding signs, marketing collateral, and throughout the dining room to tie everything together.
PACKAGING
The logo design also needed to function well on to go packaging. Shown is an example of the bold header type in contrast with the serif body copy, on stickers for house-made barbecue sauce.
MARKETING
Liberty Barbecue opened their business strong by printing business cards, take out menus and event flyers to help spread the word about their grand opening.
Liberty Barbecue Logo Development Summary
1CREATE A VERSATILE MARK
The exterior signage was crucial to the restaurant wayfinding, and was the benchmark for the logo layout and proportions. The logo also scales down well for apparel and hand held prints.
2COOPERATE WITH PORTFOLIO
It was important to the owners to forge a connection between their existing brands (tavern, brasserie, and cafe) and this new concept, but also allow the new concept to stand alone confidently.
3EXPAND THE BRAND
The logo design served as the foundation to build the menu design and coordinating marketing materials for the restaurant.
